Studio was very chill. In the first half, we had a presentation and discussed our sites for the next exercise. The presentation was boring, to be honest. After each of us presented our cites, I thought mine was the least "exercise worthy" site. I even texted Srushti in the middle of the class saying I should have picked another site. 2 minutes later, ma'am said Priya's site is different and it could work. We had to pick streets. I picked the small street right outside my house. And I thought everyone would do the same. Turns out they didn't. People went as far as 2 km to pick streets. Honestly, I felt kind of stupid after looking at everyone else's sites. But it kind of worked in my favour. Ma'am thought my site was different as it was a secondary street, and also I live in a different city than everyone else. To cover up for my mistake I kind of tried proposing another site, the main road outside the church. Ma'am left it on our group to decide it.
In the second half, we had individuals meetings with ma'am. My turn was at 4:15. I slept till 4. The first thing ma'am spoke about after I joined the meeting was about the blog. I kind of get this feeling that she trusts me with it. After all, I'm in charge of the BLOG Team. Don't get me wrong, I'm not boasting. I'm just happy. Then she spoke about the submission, the threshold map. I somewhere thought that she'll say, she didn't like my work, but she didn't say anything like that. She also kind of liked my work I guess, she was surprised that I made a lot of changes. The only thing she said was that she made a mistake in explaining the exercise properly to us. She wanted us to actually talk about the urban threshold but many of us did our assignments based on the thresholds of our home. She even an explained with an example with the context of Mumbai and yeah she's from Mumbai.
She also asked if the second years were finding it difficult to cope as it is a vertical studio and offered to take special classes for us. I thought it was very sweet of her to say that. I'm so glad I put this studio as my first preference and that I got selected. Certainly my best decision.
